| Colorado Food Share ProgramFirst Flight is a proud partner of the Colorado Food Share Program. It is a non-profit organization sponsored by Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Denver. Their goal is to save people money on groceries and building relationships in the community. There is no income requirement to participate. Anyone can participate. It is staffed 100% by local volunteers. First Flight provides the transportation for the food from Durango to Cortez, and takes the orders, as well as providing some volunteers for organizing and handing out the orders. The American Legion Ute Mountain Post #75 is also a local partner, providing the space to organize and hand out the orders. More help is always needed; anyone is welcome to come join us. The price of your order does nothing to help defray the cost of getting the food from Durango to Cortez. Donations to assist with that cost are always welcome; this is a sizable expense for a small group of individuals, but a small expense if we all share in it. Orders are taken between the delivery of orders and the beginning of each month. This varies some from month to month, and we do not set the schedule. Delivery is usually on the fourth Saturday of every month. Please call for specific dates for the month you are interested in. Orders can also be made online; be sure to say you want the "South West Colorado and San Luis Valley Region". Deliveries are picked up by individuals at 320 N. Harrison, Cortez, CO 81321.
